CleardocsConfirm: efficient, technology-enabled support from a lawyer

Our dynamic, pay-as-you-go, custom legal document ordering service provides documents that cover most of the circumstances our customers' experience.

However, you may have particular contractual requirements for certain staff. Typically, these requirements include clauses about restrictive covenants and bonuses. If a document needs these clauses, then before you proceed to order the document, you (or the employer) must seek legal advice. We make that as fast and low cost for you as we can, by combining our technology with the expertise of our lawyers at Ashfords.

You're in control

The Cleardocs system will ask if you need clauses for the few topics that our standard online documents don't cover. If you tick the 'yes' box, then you can:

• check the Ashfords fee for those clauses;

• read about what to do next; and

• choose whether to order the CleardocsConfirm service for those clauses for this document.

You don't have to use CleardocsConfirm

You don't have to use Ashfords. You can change your mind any time before you order and pay. But if you want the Cleardocs document with the relevant clauses at a cost effective and in a time efficient manner, then CleardocsConfirm is the answer.

How it works

The CleardocsConfirm service works by enabling an Ashfords lawyer:

• to view your online answers at Cleardocs;

• to contact you to discuss your needs;

• to tailor your documents for (in most cases) a flat-fee set in advance. You pay the flat-fee when your pay the normal Cleardocs fee.

We can keep the flat-fee (that covers most cases) low because:

• Ashfords sign-off all Cleardocs documents so it's lawyers can make the changes swiftly - the lawyer doesn't need to familiarise themselves the documents first, saving you the fee for that time.

• the CleardocsConfirm process is powered by our technology, making the process fast and reliable; and

• the Ashfords lawyers handle many of these queries and can do so confidently and swiftly.

Flat-fee limits (and a credit for you)

Early in your conversations with the lawyer at Ashfords it will become clear whether your needs are covered by the flat-fee (most people's needs are covered). If your needs are not covered, then here is how the process (and your credit) works. The Ashfords lawyer:

• will re-scope the task with you;

• will give you a quote for that task; and

• will, if you decide to proceed, arrange for your to become a direct client of the firm with a credit equal to the flat-fee. (If you do not proceed, then we will credit your Cleardocs account with the amount of the flat-fee or we will refund you.)

Changing your mind about CleardocsConfirm

If you purchase CleardocsConfirm and change your mind before receiving advice from Ashfords, your Cleardocs account will be automatically credited with the amount. You can purchase additional Cleardocs documents using the credit. Alternatively, upon request, Cleardocs will refund the fee to your payment card - without quibble or delay.

If you'd rather go to your own lawyer

If you have specific contractual requirements and wish to use your own lawyer for advice, click 'No' in the Cleardocs system when asked about the CleardocsConfirm service.
